After all, it's not like the world ends tomorrow, right? Words: 168 | Tag: @username | Notes: notes here It's been quite a while since Daniel enjoyed a movie on the big screen. So he decided to watch a release he was excited for. The movie is named "Crushers of Despair 2: Hope Strikes Back" and all trailers looked promising. There was even a familiar name as the director. Mariko Nakazawa, the SHSL Film Director, who even is his senpai.
With his wallet in tow, he decided to go to the first cinema he thought of. Lots of people were there, but there was a green-haired girl standing there as well. She looked oddly familiar. Was she waiting for someone?
Nevertheless, Daniel moved a bit closer to get a better look. He tried not to rudely stare at her, and he kept his distance as well. Wouldn't want to invade her personal space. The Procrastinator was thinking that the girl would be Mariko, but she never wore feminine clothing, so it couldn't be her, he thought.
He began counting his change so he could buy his ticket. created by M of PR

[/i] and it was all too much. And so she was here she was on a nice whateverdayitwas afternoon Mariko found herself outside the theater closest to the school, nervously tugging on the hem of her skirt and feeling very exposed without her hoodie or the jeans she normally wore, but Nori and Nari had both insisted she "wore something cute for a change" because "she was a good looking girl" and it was "a shame to hide that all the time" Her sisters always had to pick on her {Spoiler} [/ul]

For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love. Alexander Root was not one to leave his lab very often, except for school, seeing as attending the school allowed him pretty much unlimited funding for his experiments. However, today was a special day, because his friend, a film director, had a movie coming out. While at first he debated actually going, the thought of spending the day with her had defeated all of his responsibilities and his workaholic tendencies. His sister had tried to get him to dress up because 'it's a date!' even though he tried to convince her several times it was not a date. Alas, he ended up going just like he always looked, lab coat, non-tucked in t-shirt, a pair of slacks that probably had many chemicals spill on in the past. However, he did end up taking a shower, brushing his hair, and wearing clean clothes.
Packing up his notebook into his lab coat, Root made his way to the theater they had agreed on. After all, it was an opening night and she probably was nervous. It was like when he had to present an idea to a board of fellow scientists about his experiments and his theories. Even one like Root got nervous when he was presenting. Actually, Root got very nervous a lot even with science, but he was fairly good at pretending to be confident, except when he was around a specific pretty girl.
Speaking of that specific pretty girl, when Root arrived at the theater his eyes skated over her for just a second, spotting his brown haired friend before his eyes locked on Mariko wearing… well, a skirt and everything. Root completely forgot about spotting his friend and stared for a few moments. Now he felt like he was totally underdressed for this whole thing. He quickly turned around hoping she didn't spot him and took a deep breath. He tucked in his t-shirt and tucked the end of his belt that usually just hung freely into his belt loops. He ran a hand through his hair and debated taking off the lab coat or not. Where would he put it?
Quickly Root took off his white lab coat and looked around before deciding to sling it into a nearby trashcan, feeling a bit sad at throwing away a lab coat. Of course he took out his journal before he threw the lab coat in the can. It felt so weird to have no lab coat on, for his skin to be bear to the air. Taking a deep breath, he approached Mariko with a grin on his face. "H-Hi. I-I didn't know I was supposed to dress up. Sorry." He laughed nervously. "You look great."

After all, it's not like the world ends tomorrow, right? Words: 268 | Tag: @username | Notes: notes here "Hmm, looks like I've got enough for the ticket and the small popcorn and soda combo..." Daniel mumbled to himself after he finished counting his change.
As he looked up, he saw a very familiar person walk into view. Why, of course, it was his friend Alexander Root. The senpai of Daniel's own senpais. Only he would run around in a lab coat outside of his laboratory. When the Scientist approached the green-haired girl is when it dawned on him: The girl was Mariko Nakazawa herself!
Naturally, Daniel approached the two with a big ol' smile on his face. In the meantime however, Root already threw his lab coat into the trash for whatever reason.
"Hey ho, you two!", he said. The Procrastinator was being as cheerful (and annoying in Root's eyes) as always. He glanced over at Mariko and let out a small friendly laugh. "I nearly didn't recognize you there, Mariko.", he said. "It's like Root is saying, you're looking pretty nice today."
Of course, since Root also mentioned dressing up, Daniel didn't care about that at all. He walked to the theater in his school uniform, because he was too lazy to wear something else. Kinda like Root, who always seemed to walk around with his lab coat, well, until he threw it away.
Shooting over a look at his friend Root, Daniel grinned. "You didn't need to throw away your coat, you know? This isn't the oscars or anything like that." He chuckled to himself.
Looking at the entrance, he then said. "Are your wallets ready? Let's go inside before we miss the beginning." created by M of PR

[/i] She wanted to say it was no big deal, to insist that she was dressed like this because her sisters hid her normal clothes from her but to be quite honest she was a bit caught off guard to see her friend in anything but a lab coat. This may be the first time it's ever happened to be honest with you and she didn't hate it. He was handsome normally anyway but it was nice to see him when he looked like a normal human being for a change, you know? "You look great.""Oh, uh...thanks." Tucking a bit of hair behind an ear Mariko was quick to divert her gaze away from the usually surly senpai whoimonlycallingthatbecauseIcan'tspellwordsrightapparently and wondered not for the first time if asking her friend her to accompany her to the opening weekend had been a good idea. Luckily she didn't have long to dwell on such silly thoughts because with a yell of "hey ho!" Mariko turned to see one of her underclassmen approaching her and an odd feeling of not being sure to praise or curse this occurrence "It's like Root is saying, you're looking pretty nice today.""Thank you very much,Saotome-san." Such a good girl, so polite. Smiling a bit and bowing her head to the compliment, not at all used to this kind of praise. Normally people were just saying things like "good job buddy" or "way ta go bro." Being flat chested had its drawbacks (something else her sisters hammered in all the time) and the fact she normally never dressed this way didn't help matters any "Are your wallets ready? Let's go inside before we miss the beginning." "Wallets? Don't be silly." Having your name in the credits does have its perks. Motioning the two boys to wait there for just a second Mariko totally didn't run away left to speak with speak with the person who was the sole reason she was even here, talking in mumbled breaths before finally turning towards the other two boys and motioned for them to follow her to the usual seating. "Being semi-famous has its perks."[/ul]

For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love. Wait what was Daniel doing here? Oh right. He remembered spotting him. And of course his friend Mariko had completely taken his focus. See, Wendy? It was not a date, obviously. Daniel was here. This was in no way a date. No way, no how. How could it be with Daniel here? So really he could prove to his sister it was totally not a date and nothing could say any different. That was completely and totally out of the question. Thank you, Daniel for coming here today so he could prove to his sister he wasn't on a date.
"Shut up," Root whispered to Daniel when he mentioned his coat. He didn't want Mariko to know he was being a nervous wreck and threw his lab coat out. He had plenty of them. It wasn't a big deal and it wasn't like he changed into a suit or something. Just took off the coat. It-It wasn't like a date or anything, he kept telling him. Otherwise Daniel wouldn't be here. Okay. He really needed to just calm down and stop thinking about this possibly being a date. He was obviously worrying too much. Calm, Alex, calm.
He took a deep breath and looked to Daniel as Mariko talked to the guy about something. Semi-famous, huh? He couldn't get into movies for free. Okay. He was famous in the scientific community and he could get into any symposium or be a speaker wherever he really wanted to. It probably wasn't as interesting of a power for famousity as getting into a movie you directed for free and probably with better seats than normal. "Oh. Okay?" Root didn't know how else to respond, he wasn't good at formulating responses. He looked to Daniel the awkwardness of his social skills coming through in his look, making him look slightly uncomfortable in general.

After all, it's not like the world ends tomorrow, right? Daniel looked at Mariko when she said that they didn't have to pay to watch the movie.
"Really? Sweet!", he replied. "Are we gonna get free popcorn and drinks as well? Just asking."
And with that, he followed Mariko to their seating. The Procrastinator knew that Root and Mariko were close, so he figured that he should not pick the seat in the middle, as that way he would be between the two, and he didn't want that.
Upon picking the seat to the left, leaving the middle and right seats to Mariko and Root, Daniel looked at the screen.
They were early, so there'd be half a million trailers and commercials before the movie would start. The Procrastinator hated it, but he knew he couldn't do anything against it, so he just dealt with it.
He also figured that the movie had to be awesome, since his senpai Mariko was responsible for it.
He then mumbled to himself. "Hard to believe I'm watching a movie and the person responsible for its existence is close to me right now. This is life."

[/i] Well duh, otherwise what'd the point be in going at all…is what she’d normally say. Sadly for her on opening weekends Mariko wasn’t allowed to stuff her face like an adorable green haired pig like she usually did, she had to look cute and presentable for the reporters who wanted her to answer questions about her latest and next film as she danced for the nice people who were pulling her strings and guiding her on what to say. So while Daniel went to get all of his free snacks she had to make an effort to not curse him in her mind over something he had no idea about. By the time the three teenagers had made it up to the seats the lower section of the theater had filled up a bit and Mariko was actively trying not to think about that. With all of these people here what if they all hated it? What if they all booed, or walked out or—no, not the time to think about that. This was a time spent with friends and Mariko plopped herself down in the middle seat next to Daniel and propped her feet up on the headrest of the vacant chair in front of her (forge5tting about the fact she was wearing a skirt, try not to think about that too much.) Trying to think of something to make small conversation about while they waited for the film to start, Mariko jabbed one finger at the screen when a name came up in an advertisement. “That one’s actually pretty pervy. You should have heard some of the things he said on set.”[/ul]

For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love. Root took his seat next to Mariko, with the green haired beauty sitting between him and Daniel. He kept questioning himself. Should he put his hand on her leg? Put his arm around her? Oh god, what if she thought he was… like, coming onto her, even if that was sort of what he was thinking about doing. What if she thought that and was weirded out? He didn't want her to feel uncomfortable or anything like that. And most of all he didn't want her to try to get away from him and actually find out that he really, truly thought she was attractive and currently had a huge crush on her. He'd been denying it for a while, but he had eventually just admitted it to himself. But no matter what she couldn't find out. And since he had admitted it, he could avoid her detecting it. Then again, what would a little gesture hurt?
They were sitting down and just as Root was going to lean back and place an arm around the back of her chair, when she propped her feet up on the chair in front of her. Immediately his mind was swimming with such inappropriate thoughts, and he had to close his eyes for a fleeting moment to banish them from his mind. His eyes dropped to her hand which soon raised up and pointed at a name. His eyes followed and he stared at the name for a moment as he words finally hit him. He clenched his teeth as he fumed with rage mixed with jealousy. If he had heat vision activated by negative emotions, that screen would be completely destroyed and the building would be on fire by how hard he was glaring at that screen, even after the name disappeared.
He quickly wrote down in his journal the name along with the phrase: 'inappropriate to Mariko'. That way he wouldn't forgot the name. And if he heard it again, or encountered the dude, he would have a few choice words for the guy, or well about the guy at least. "If he gives you any problems," Root say sighing and leaning back, placing his arm on the back of her chair, draping around but not touching her (wow, that's probably the smoothest thing Root had ever done in his life), "I'll have Daniel sic Kaneko on him." Root laughed to signify that he was joking, but of course, he wasn't truly joking in the end. The green was strong in him.

I like to take my sweet time doing things.
After all, it's not like the world ends tomorrow, right? Free snacks? Free snacks. Daniel went and took his fair share of them. Being in the same school as the director of the movie they're watching rocked!
As the opening credits rolled along the screen, Mariko mentioned that one of the people there was a pervert. Daniel snickered at the thought of Root telling him "Daniel, sic your girlfriend on this guy, he disrespected Mariko!"
Don't get the Procrastinator wrong, Daniel wasn't too fond of perverts himself. And whenever he heard the word 'pervert', he couldn't help but think of Willow Fey, who is in the same year as him.
Of course, Willow wasn't a bad guy by any means. Daniel legitimately enjoyed the time he spent with him that one day, and he would gladly do it again.
Daniel then turned to Root and whispered to him. "You're close, but unless the guy's a thief, Kaneko won't do a thing to him. And she's also smart enough to not believe every single little thing you tell her. But... I can suggest it to her, see what she says."
With that, Daniel looked at the screen and the opening credits were finally over and the movie began for real.
"Ooh, I'm so excited!" Daniel quietly said. "I'm already liking this guy.", he added as he pointed to the main character of the movie, Bou Ki. Naturally, the movie then showed the audience that Bou is characterized by the color red, the color of 'heroes'.
"Let's see where this will go from here."

[/i] "Ooh, I'm so excited!"[...]"I'm already liking this guy."Well, so far so good. Granted they were only like thirteen seconds into the movie at this point but hey, she wasn’t about to complain. Not that she would have anyway, it wasn’t in her nature to complain about many things as it was a personality trait that worked against her almost as much as it did to her benefit, because god forbid there be a moment if time where people don’t take advantage of someone’s good nature. People in general were creatures of selfish desires, ones who didn’t mind stepping over broken corpses to get what they wanted. It wasn’t really a mindset she could wrap her mind around, how could someone be so heartless? With nothing really of note to add to the conversation, Mariko leaned back in her chair with her feet still propped up on the seat in front of her that this wasn’t the most ladylike thing to do if you were wearing a skirt. She directed the movie so it wasn’t like she had much to comment on in terms of the films quality, but the green haired woman did have a small habit when it came to watching her own movies, in that she liked to sneak in and steal glances at the faces of those who had paid for a ticket to see her latest work. This was the first time she would have been seeing a movie was friends, and as she sat here next to the two boys she had been, and she for some reason couldn’t help but take notice of a strange pain in her chest as she tried to will herself to look at the upperclassman who was seated beside her Was it heartburn? Maybe having all those snacks before getting dressed up for the press wasn’t that good of an idea after all. [/ul]

For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love. Root was interesting in the film, don't get him wrong, but he was having a bit of trouble focusing on the movie when there was a hot girl sitting right next to him with her feet propped up while wearing a skirt. Of course, he still watched it, and interpreted enough to be able to keep up with the story, but his mind was trying to force him to glance over at Mariko without having a dirty thought. Root wrapped his arm around Mariko's shoulder, so his hand was resting on Mariko's far shoulder, moving barely and gently on the front but the contact was enough to send Root into high alert, gauging her reaction without even looking at her was hard. It was hard enough when he could see people.
Bou Ki. That was the name. Okay. What was happening? Okay. He got that. His hand was still on her shoulder, his arm around her, and her legs propped up. God don't picture that right now. He was pretty sure if the lights were on, everyone could tell he was blushing bright red right now. Luckily most people were paying attention to the movie so the light from the movie didn't reveal his deep red blush. Unless someone looked at him. Then it would be obvious. He had to cool down. But how could he cool down around her? Like this? It was like they were on a date, except Daniel was here. Right. Daniel was here. He could feel the temperature of his cheeks slowly dropping and hopefully that blush was taken care of.
It's not a date. It's not a date. Daniel is here. Just because this feels super special because you get to spend time with Mariko in a dark room doesn't make it a date. Daniel. Daniel was the reason this wasn't a date. He almost hated Daniel right now for being here. Then again, he also was incredibly happy Daniel was here because then no one could say it was a date when it totally wasn't a date. Wait what was happening in the movie?
