Being accepted in to Hope's Peak was a surprising turn of events for Kumori, and one that led to what was most definitely her first period of normalcy in a long time, as much as being a student in a prestigious high school full of high tier specialized students could be considered normal.
Still, this abnormalcy was no excuse to get rusty, though it wasn't like Kumori was going to do so by killing other students. Now absurd. High School Students killing each other? That would be even more abnormal. No, what she was doing was working on the skills she would use to perform the act if she needed to, just as any number of the other students would practice martial arts or archery. True Mastery of a weapon was to know how to use it to kill so it could be controlled and made not to.
Even so... It was in the evening already as she practiced in the gym, having to let all of the various sports student have dibs on what was technically their area first before it could be cleared out. Right now it was just her and several training dummies in various states of battle damage. Slash Marks. Puncture Marks. Impact Marks. Shuriken. All in vital places on the dummies. For now she was dashing back in forth between them with a katana in hand, unsheathing it and slashing at them as she ran past before re-sheathing it and repeating it for the next.
This, like most everything she did, was done so silently that it would be incredible difficult to hear from the outside. but that didn't mean that someone couldn't wander in anyway.

It was the first time since the designer stepped foot on the academy's threshold that something piqued her interest enough to make her put her phone away. Airi had decided earlier that day to take some time and walk around the school, getting acquainted with it's layout. Unfortunately, despite Hope's Peak being world famous, and getting in to be a massive honor to some students, the girl spent the majority of her attention on her fancy little phone.
That was, until she decided to peak into the gym, just to check it off her mental list of rooms to, at least, glance at. Obviously, she didn't expect a near silent ninja with big jugs to be slicing up dummies with a katana all across the large, brightly lit room. The fashion designer's steel blue eyes opened wide, as she tensed for a single moment, before clicking the power button on her phone, and dropping it in her bag. A cute, excited smile crept across her face, and she slipped through the narrow gap in the door before lightly closing it. She stood at the wall, next to the gyms doors, crossing her arms as she watched the show.
Seriously.. She started to think to herself. How fucking lucky can I get, seeing such a badass student like this practicing on a boring day like this. It was almost hard to stifle a little excited giggle. The girl wanted to stay as silent as possible though. She wondered if this chick had already noticed her. She seemed pretty concentrated on dismembering a particularly unlucky dummy when the girl came in, but then again, she was a shinobi, right? She could probably hear a pin drop during a New Years Eve party, right?
While waiting, Airi put her right foot up against the wall she was leaning on, keeping her eyes on the mystery girl as she flew from dummy to dummy. The girl was standing just a few feet away from one of the sackmen that hadn't become intimate with that beautiful sword quite yet. Was this dangerous at all?

Kumori noticed that someone had seen her the moment that the door began to open, but given that the person sneaking in to watch her showed no signs of aggression, at least not yet, the Shinobi opted to continue with her exercise for a bit, dashing around and slashing the dummys, working her way over to where Airi was leaning against the wall. Finally she dashed over around the one near the other girl, moving in between her and the dummy.
One moment the dummy was unscathed, and the next it was in pieces, happening right in front of Airi. Kumori sheathed the katana and stretched her arms over her head and turned towards the other girl. "Hey, enjoying the show?" She asked, moving her arms behind her back for just a moment, enough that her katana seemed to disappear. She wasn't suppose to casually handle weapons too close to other students, but for all intents and purposes it didn't exist anymore.
The Ninja smiled. "I'm Kumori, Nice to meet ya."

"Enjoying the show?" Well, it was at the moment that Kumori uttered those words, that Airi cracked up, laughing just a bit. Well, duh. The designer clapped her hands for a few seconds before glancing down at the dummy. Kumori had seriously done a number on that one in particular. Severing it's arms, then legs, before disemboweling it's stomach and leaving cotton strewn on the gym floor. It almost seemed cruel, but then again, dummy's didn't exactly have a sense of pain.
Smiling, she looked back up at the dummy exterminator. "Yeah.. that was seriously impressive. Heh, didn't even know someone could move that fast." Without getting off her wall, Airi extending her hand to shake Kumori's. "My name's Airi. Airi Mitsukuri. Nice to meet ya, Kumori."

Kumori extended her hand and shook Airi's. Typically to get this close to someone, the Super High School Level Shinobi would need to be in stealth or disguise. This wasn't a bad experience though, being able to interact with someone so directly... Well, as directly as she could, pushing certain thoughts to the side. One so skilled at the art of killing had to be able to know when to stay their blade after all.
But that was all internal, externally, Kumori stepped back after the handshake. "So, what is it that you do around here? My talent is hopefully a bit obvious after all."

She rubbed her hand just a bit. As the girl expected, Kumori had a strong handshake. She was probably strong, and agile enough to break Airi's wrist from just a simple shake like that. Luckily, the shinobi didn't exactly seem like a lunatic who goes around breaking wrist and dismembering limbs. Of real people, at least.
As the younger student returned her hand to her side, she drummed the wall behind her with her knuckles, paying close attention to her new acquaintance. "My talent is hopefully a bit obvious." Once again, Airi scanned the massacre in front of her, before looking back at Shinobi with an almost deadpanned expression, aside from a subtle little smirk.
"Yeah... I can't even imagine what that talent would be." She spoke with a light, sarcastic tone. Sarcasm that would hopefully be as obvious as the talent in question. Airi paused a moment, before getting off the wall and readjusting her hat, speaking as she shifted it on her head. "Well, my talent probably sounds pretty damn lame in comparison, but I'm a fashion designer. I spend less time getting into awesome sword fights, and more just putting together clothing lines, or working at photo shoots for magazines or something."

Kumori thought for a moment, muttering. "Airi... Airi Mitsukuri..." Before snapping her fingers. "Oh yeah! I've worn some of the clothes you've designed before! Yeah, they really came in handy when I-" And the Shinobi paused mid-sentance, catching herself. "I probably shouldn't go in to detail about that, but needless to say they were really useful."
She seemed relatively serious about that, so the vagueness just added more questions. Given her Talent though it wasn't like it was too hard to piece together some of what she was implying.

With that, Airi found herself holding her hand over her mouth, chuckling just a bit. Well, at least that shit she puts together is finding a use in the world. Was this pride that the redhead felt, or simply happiness to get a little acknowledgement. Some people seem to think those clothing lines materialize out of star dust, instead of actually being labored over.
Honestly, she couldn't help but to briefly sigh in regards of her little internal rant. Putting her smile back on, she crossed her arms, looking about as casual as could be, before speaking.
"Well, regardless of how they may have helped you, I'm glad my designs are going to good use.. In one way or another." She paused, glancing over at another dummy that was nearby, a couple of ninja stars impaled in it's featureless face. Pacing over to it, grabbed one of them, carefully, before walking back over to Kumori, taking a bit of time to study it. Who says fashion designers can't be interested in lethal weapons.
"Sooo..." She began to speak, extending her open palm that held the weapon to the ninja, offering it back. "Tell me a bit about yourself, Ashibayai." Maybe it was a sorta plain conversation starter, but she was honestly curious about this girl, for a change.

"Well first," Kumori said, taking the shuriken out of Airi's hand. The ninja skillfully rolled it around between the fingers of her left hand, not even looking at it as she continued to do so. "I'm under kinda strict instruction to not let anyone handle any of these weapons, well at least not any students that don't know what they're doing... Which there are a few here." While she was talking, at some point the shuriken just disappeared. "But if what you've touched doesn't seem to exist anymore, then no harm no foul."
"So, what do you want to know? There are some things I can't tell you even if I wanted to, and some I probably shouldn't. Past that, I'm not too sure what to talk about..."
