[/font] There was the sound of wood on floor as people got to their feet to gather their belongings after the service and Emiko Katsuhiro (not Nakazawa. Katsuhiro. For some reason people never seemed to get her name right and it was a tad bit irksome.) stifled a yawn into the crook of her elbow s she gazed out upon her congregation. The church the school had given her permission to hold her services in wasn’t the fanciest, and really it just seemed someone had randomly placed a half-assed church in a field and said hey good enough, but the young woman always managed to draw a sizable crowd on a weekly basis. Say what you will about the pretty green haired priestess (and those who did usually did so behind her back) but the girl was charismatic no matter what a certain small-dicked, unloved scientist who reeked of desperation and virginity said. Not that she was speaking of anyone in particular, perish the thought. You would have thought that there would have been more than one religious figure the school would bring in to do these sort of functions, but the school apparently decided to say “ah fuck it, it’s cheaper this way” which to be honest for a school that doesn’t make it mandatory for students to attend classes isn’t actually that far from unbelievable but hell, she wasn’t going to complain about that. Today. Why not you ask? Well, as you may not know with a large group there were a lot of fresh new faces. Faces of people who may have not been there before, and if she was going to be forced to do these services for everyone, she may just be able to convert a few stray lambs along the way into the waiting arms of her loving congregation. A congregation of which as, as Emiko smiled and bowed and wished everyone a nice day was either now shuffling towards the door or looking for loved ones to gather them to their next destination. As Emiko waited by the door the green haired woman gave one last smile and bowing as elegantly as she could in her priestess garb, opened the doors so people could finally shuffle their way outside. "May the Gods grant you safe blessings on your journeys."[/ul]

For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love. There was one thing he hated about his sister being over here in Japan with him. He loved being able to spend time with her, look out for her, keep her away from their father who spouted such terrible things about him to her, though she seemed to forget most of them by now, luckily, he could laugh and watch television with her… but she had one thing she had recently asked him about and he just could not even bear to go to it with her. Normally he would go get ice cream or whatever she wanted to do with her, but this time it was way too far. But he couldn’t bring himself to say no to her.
"There's this really nice girl at school! She wanted me to join her for one of her presentations! Her name was, um…" She checked her notes. "Emiko Katsuhiro! She was going to do it on gods and stuff. Isn't that so cool? Can I go please?"
The eyes she had made. The tone she used when asking. No big brother could say no to a little sister in these circumstances. And it wasn't like he thought Emiko would physically harm her. And it wasn't like Wendy wouldn't forget everything she learned there in a few weeks anyways. Given the fact he actually did trust the priestess in areas that concerned actually not hurting Wendy, and how Emiko would protect her if someone did try to hurt her, Root decided that this once, he wouldn’t go with Wendy. After all, he had work he had to do. His life shouldn't revolve around his little sister, who he injured gravely and felt such guilt over and wants to atone for his sin. Then again, revolving around his sister did make sense. However, she wouldn't want that, nor would his mother, so he dealt with it.
Well anyways, Root was waiting outside thinking it was over soon and he waited by the door, just waiting and waiting until Wendy walked out, and well people were allowed out. Wendy better be alright or Emiko was going to die. He didn't care if that meant Emiko would break his legs, he'd find a way to kill her for not taking proper care of his sister. Then the door finally opened and he saw Emiko there. He scoffed and looked inside to see if he could spot Wendy.
"I see you're finally done spouting nonsense for the day."

[/i] Of course he had to provoke her. That’s just how the little man (in every sense of the word, or at least that was the rumor being told by everyone else who’s had the misfortune to come into contact with the scientist, why else would he be such an angry bitch?) got what little joy in his life from. If life had been fair she would have sworn at or insulted him back or told him to fuck off because he wasn’t welcome here but of course he had to come at a time where she had members of her congregation here within earshot, and they can’t hear their priestess use such foul defamatory language and remarks, she had to stay as calm and refined and elegant as possible. That’s what a priestess was supposed to be like, she had been told after all so instead of responding to Root’s baited hook, the green haired woman deliberately turned her back to the so called scientist to once again face the people who were trying to shuffle out and smiled cheerily, trying not to appear bothered at the mere presence of the boy. “Ah, please be careful where you walk as you exit. Someone left some trash here by the door, I’d hate for anyone to step in it and track it elsewhere.”[/ul]

For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love. The dislike, maybe hate, went both ways when regarding the relationship between Root and Emiko. They had known each other since first year, nearly four years now, and of course, Root was in love with her cousin, because it just had to happen that way. God had a cruel sense of humor, Root knew, but he didn't think God was really that much of an asshole until after he found that out. Take away his mother. Take away his sister's good mental health. Make him a useless piece of shit. But make the girl he would fall in love with family to the person he disliked, almost hated? Well that was just cruelty. That was just sick sadism on God's part.
"Tch. I wouldn't be here if my sister didn't insist on coming to your… dumpster diving ceremony," Root said waiting outside the door for his sister who was still coming out with the others. Some might say they were like an old married couple or that they were a cute pair who liked to argue. But it wasn't even close to that. Root actually disliked Emiko. He didn't say these things because secretly he loved her. That was so far from the truth it made him gag. And that was true all the way to the core. He disliked her at his core, though he respected her only a little bit, a teensy itty little tiny bit, all the way deep down in his cold shriveled heart, which was at least a little more than he respected himself. It was a little sad in a way.
Root stood watching as people started exiting awaiting his sister with great anticipation. The sooner she came out, the faster he could leave. "I couldn’t stand being with her during it, so she went alone. If she wants to listen to your shit, then she can do it herself. Congratulations, you've reached the height of 'too annoying to stand even around my sister'. No one has ever done that before." Root fake clapped a couple times in slow deliberate movements, a look of disgust quite evident on his face. Oh hurry up Wendy. Why were you at the back of this crowd?

[/i]Sheesh, with the way he was acting was it no wonder that people were under the mistaken impression that they actually liked each other and every time that stupid rumor got floated around she threw up a bit. Who in their right mind would sign up for any length of time with this stupid goddamned idiot? No that wasn’t nice to say probably, and not a language a nice young priestess should use but oh my god was he a pretentious douchebag. It really was no wonder than everyone on campus broke into that stupid lab of his to fuck in there purely out of spite. For his sake she both hoped he occasionally cleaned that stupid lab but more importantly she really really hoped he didn’t. And even though he was clearly trying to provoke her into acting shamefully in front of her beloved congregation, the green haired girl simply smiled as various unnamed people of various ages excited the church space before lowering her voice to the point where she was like ninety eight point ninety-nine percent sure that nobody but Alex could hear what she was about to say, because unlike little Allie here Emiko still had a reputation she had to keep and maintain as some people actually liked her around here. "Ah, no wonder miss Wendy seemed to enjoy herself so much. She didn't have to worry about you leering at her from around every bush and corner like a shameless disgusting pervert for a change."Come on root, have some semblance of shame. Wendy may be cute but she was a blood relative. [/ul]

For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love. Root pursed his lips together at her accusation. That was highly untrue. He never thought of his sister in such… terrible ways. Where the hell would she get an idea like that? It was just another attempt at slandering his name. It didn't need help; he drove it through the mud enough on his own. To even insinuated that he wanted to… with Wendy… she was his sister and many times he had to act like a father because their father wasn't around. In fact, his father was the one who made him put the tracker on her so he would know where she was at all times. It wasn't Root's idea. If Root could do what he wanted… well literally everything but a tracker would be the same in their relationship (Wendy didn’t know he kept a tracker on her, but she needn't know this, right?). He would still be overprotective and a bit of a bitch to any boy who spoke to her or some 'priestess' who tried to brainwash her. She was his family, he'd protect her from the world.
"Tch. I'm not a pervert, thank you very much. Wendy is a delicate person and she needs to be watched over because of her delicacy or anyone could crush her and break her into little pieces. I'm here to make sure that doesn't happen," Root replied, his look appearing cold and serious, glaring into Emiko's eyes though he knew it was futile as she would probably just think it was funny how much he was trying to look tough and tease him and say he looked like a monkey trying to take a shit or something like that. "Just ask her. She likes to spend time with me." Root huffed and crossed his arms. "She wanted me to come, begged me to come with her, even, but I refused because you're a---"
Wendy had come out of the doors and Root stopped his thought completely. "Wendy!" Root smiled widely and offered his hand to her, which she ran to come grab. "I appreciate you looking over Wendy while she was in your service." Root's smile had faded as soon as he turned to address Emiko again. "Hey Wendy," Root said patting her on the head, "Why don't you run ahead a little bit, Alex has something to clear up really fast, then I'll join you."
Wendy nodded and ran off laughing into the crowd. Root was sincerely worried about Wendy being alone in that crowd but it wouldn't be for but a second. "Don't ever try to insinuate that I think of her that way. She's my sister. You know how it feels to have a little sister you look over. I'm sure if I tried to do anything to Chieko, you'd beat the shit out of me. It's the same with Wendy and I, except she literally can't live without someone helping her along. So shut your fucking mouth and move the fuck on, demon."
