PERFECTION IS THE CHILD OF TIME
and i will be that child
Raiden Yagami, the Ultimate Basketball Player. A man driven to be perfect by his own mind, and some would call it insanity. He was all business and no play, despite the fact that he played a sport. Some would say (and they were wrong, mind you) that he didn’t care for the sport but he cared for the skills he would pick up from it. After all, he was known to sometimes be able to copy someone's movements almost exactly when they made them. That was due to the fact he had to be able to predict the movements of players on the court when in a game. Of course, normally one had team members they could rely on in case their predictions were wrong, but in Raiden's case it'd been… awhile since he had a team he felt he could rely on. Even now at Hope's Peak, he didn't trust the other players on the basketball team, seeing as many of them were not ultimates at the sport, but reserve course students used to fill in the blanks. Despite his amazing prowess and talent on the basketball course, Raiden did not let himself get lazy when it came to practice. He practiced every single day after school. He practiced during school, he focused all the time on improving himself, and usually that involved comparing things to a basketball situation. He applied the skills he learned to real life and strove to be perfect in every aspect of life even if he knew he had not reached the peak of perfection… not yet at least. He bounced the ball a couple times as he took his position on one end of the court, standing right next to a basket. He grinned for a split second before he aimed for the hoop across the court from where he stood. In it went and the net swayed as the ball fell in. The satisfaction of that ball going into that hoop was thrilling, honestly for Raiden. It was one of the few things in this world that he knew would never let him down. He'd never miss a shot, and he'd always be able to feel good making any shot he wanted. After all, he couldn't trust a team, even though he had once played with a team, and if he couldn't trust the team then they were useless. Only those who were on that road to perfection and were trying to stay on that road would accept him for who he was and how he acted, else they would betray him in the end as well. After all, only a stupid man didn't learn from his mistakes, and Raiden wasn't a stupid man. @open | 452 words |
