Ice: One of two things to warm my heart. "Hmm, today there's this competition thingy where people can present their arts and crafts, and the best person gets some prize money. Maybe Ignia would love it if I won and got her a present...", Cryos thought after reading a newspaper.
He packed his trusty pencil, his drawing block and everything else he needed into a small blue backpack and walked to the place where the competition was held.
When he arrived, he saw that there were several people already there, and they all had some impressive stuff. Someone built the Eiffel Tower out of the sticks you get after you're done eating a popsicle, another person made a pretty large house made out of playing cards.
"Amateurs...", the Ice Sculptor thought. "I doubt I'd lose against people like these."
Fortunately, he found a pretty cold area where he could set up his makeshift workshop and he wouldn't have to worry about the ice melting in there.
With a smile on his face, he sat down on a nearby chair, facing the entrance and after getting his drawing equipment out, he began to draw various shapes, to see what he should make for the competition.

Adrianna was called up to be one of the judges in said competition, an offer made to her that included a decent amount of money for half a day's work. While she didn't care much about that, the offer letter was also sprinkled by words such as 'prestigious' and 'beautiful' that promised enjoyable sights, and it wasn't like there was too much responsibility attached to the job. Simply show up, act graceful and refined (which wasn't hard, as when was she not?) and give her opinion on which contestant deserved to win. All in all, it sounded like a pretty relaxing way to spend an evening.
Imagine her despair when she realized how chaotic the event really was. Participants were walking in and out anyhow they liked, and they weren't even signing up! Not to mention that the two prominent displays at the moment were.. a popsicle stick tower and a huge house of cards. She was imagining much more refined things, like paintings or clay sculptors. Sculptors. Wasn't the boy that just walked in the SHSL Ice Sculptor?
Pulling out her phone, she quickly consulted the internet. Alas, the white haired boy was indeed the person with that talent! There was actually going to be some semblance of beauty found in this godforsaken event! She quickly made her way over to one other judge, muttering some pleasant words that allowed her the chance to slip away. Happily humming, she walked over to the white-hair, tapping him on the shoulder. "You're Cyros Frost, aren't you?" she asked, extending a hand for a shake. "I'm Adrianna Kravenski, one of the judges here in this event. And don't worry about people suspecting you of foul play - I made sure to engage with all other participants too."
'At least they were able to hold up a good conversation' she thought, praising herself for her decently professional conduct while interacting with them. No matter the situation, she must always maintain a good image. Besides, it wasn't like these were bad displays. The event was about arts and crafts, and well.. some of the displays shown here did amuse her. Honestly, it was probably her own fault for getting carried away. After losing herself in the HPA environment, she had lost sense of the commoner's meaning of the word 'talent'. But not all hope was lost! One Cyrus Frost was here, and she was definitely going to make use of this opportunity. Pulling up a chair, she took her seat next to the white-haired boy, already making herself comfortable with this new arrangement. To be able to witness his work up close.. perhaps she should write a nice letter thanking the organizers for inviting her after all.

Ice: One of two things to warm my heart. A girl approached him. Looking at her, Cryos thought that she looked familiar. Wait, wasn't she that Flower Maiden, who's actually in the year below him? How did that happen?
Nevertheless, Cryos politely accepted the handshake. "Pleased to meet you.", he said. "But my name is Cryos, like cryostasis. Please do not worry, a lot of people make that mistake. Or they call me Cyrus by accident. That happens too.", he quickly smiled.
He got his equipment out and from a storage room nearby, he asked if he could take a larger block of ice from there. The worker there complied and Cryos got something that would be perfect to sculpt a human-shaped figure out of.
Cryos was glad that he could get something like that. He loved making human-shaped sculpts, even if they sent some peoples chills down their spine, considering that they look like real people who were frozen solid when he was done.
With the block in front of him, he sat back down again and began to draw on his drawing block. What was he gonna make? Maybe he could immortalize the judge girl's good looks, or he could make a sculpt of Ignia.
So many choices for him to make...

She messed up his name. The rush of excitement she felt must have made her gloss over his name when she was searching him up, and now that she thought back to that exact moment.. well, it's a miracle that she only made that tiny error. But everybody makes mistakes, even her. A human is, at the end of a day, still a human, after all. Besides, if she played her cards correctly, maybe slipping up might end up winning her a point or two with this man. He didn't take it badly at all, and that's already a positive sign.
Adrianna blushed, pulling her hand quickly away from him to cover her mouth. "How embarassing.." she whispered, eyes falling to the ground. But almost immediately afterwards she clasped both her palms against one another in a quick bid to ask for his forgiveness. It seemed that she was in quite the playful mood today, for she quickly followed that up with "You're not saying that just for show, right? You actually forgive me?"
She watched as he made her way to a far end of the room, disappearing inside and out with a giant block of ice. Was.. was there really a giant frozen cube just sitting away somewhere in this event hall? Did the organizers go that far? When Cryos returned, she spoke aloud her surprised thoughts.
"I'm amazed that the organizers had even thought of preparing that giant tower of ice.. unless you had arranged this with them beforehand? And I hope you don't mind me asking what you are planning to scuplt?" @ Cryos Frost

Ice: One of two things to warm my heart. When Cryos came back with the ice block, Adrianna was quick to ask him just where the thing came from. Since Cryos was smart, he knew just how he had to reply. But he also flashed a quick smile so that Adrianna knew that he forgave her for real.
"You know, Ms. Kravenski... I arranged for the ice block to be brought here a while back. I just forgot about the competition being here until the newspaper reminded me."
Although it sounded like a bad lie, it was actually the truth. The organizers said that this competition would take a while to set up. Cryos was told that he would be reminded via e-mail when the competition took place. Too bad he didn't check his e-mails more often, or else he would've known about this sooner.
When he was asked what he was going to do, Cryos replied with a counter-question.
"How about I sculpt you, Ms. Kravenski?", he said. "Being immortalized in beautiful ice, how does that sound to you?"
He awaited her answer.

Adrianna beamed him a smile when she saw his own, and laughed a little at his tale of forgetfulness. "I'm guessing that's why you hadn't bothered to register yourself before situating yourself here?" she asked, giggling just a tiny bit. Checking the time on her phone, she spoke up. "There's still a few hours of time before me and the other judges have to make a decision, and though I do not know how long it might take for a beautiful sculpture to be made, I hope that time is enough."
Try as she might, Adrianna just couldn't help but reflect the state of her fluttering heart when she heard the prospect that he had graced her with. "Me?" she asked, turning to gaze at the block of ice. This was to him what a clean sheet of paper is to an artist, huh? To make something so beautiful out of frozen water.. she was a fool if she declined his offer. Just the thought of a sculpture of herself was enough to send those butterflies into a frenzy. Perhaps some time in the future, when she had earned enough funds to buy herself a mansion, that was when she could hire some people to build her a statue of herself. Portraits and paintings, too. Yes, she was definitely going to do that.
Looking back to Cryos, Adrianna smirked. "It would be my pleasure, Cryos, though immortalization might end up being a tall tale. After all, ice melts, does it not?" @ Cryos Frost

Ice: One of two things to warm my heart. Cryos' eyes darted to the block of ice and back to Adrianna a few times.
"With a block of this size...", he began. "... it might take me one hour, maybe one and a half hours. They didn't invite me over here for nothing, you know?"
When the blue-haired girl mentioned that Cryos' hadn't registered yet, he facepalmed.
"How could I have been so stupid?", he said. There was a hint of blush on his face as he got up from his seat.
With a steady step, he walked to the desk where he registered himself as a competitor. After making sure that he really was in the running, Cryos returned to the judge.
"I'm sorry, that was careless of me.", he stated. "Simply embarrassing..."
With that, he saw the excitement in Adrianna's eyes upon hearing his proposal. Something told the Ice Sculptor that she was a vain person, who may or may not spend longer in front of a mirror than necessary.
Not that it bothered him, though. He sat back down and looked directly at Adrianna to answer her question.
"One would think so.", he stated. "But my workshop is pretty cold, so the sculpture of you would be safe there, Ms. Kravenski. In fact, the sculpture that got me into Hope's Peak is still there."
He sighed. "You are right, though. One day, that ice will have to melt, but as long as I'm around, no such thing will happen. Unless you're busy talking to the other contestants, I would like to begin with my work. Is there anywhere else you have to go to first? If so, I can wait."
He got his equipment out again, just in case.

When Cryos signed himself up, Adrianna took the chance to glance back at the other helpers, pleased to see that they had things under control. In fact, the person she got to take over her place at the desk even gave her a thumbs up. She smiled in return, making a mental note to thank the kind man later.
The Ice Sculptor locked eyes with her after sitting down, and she found his forthrightness respectable, deciding to immediately return the favor. Blue eyes met red, and she wondered how long this boy could last. For some reason or another her gaze often made people uncomfortable, and testing new acquaintances to see how they'll react often told her a lot about them.
"My sculpture will be safe, you say? Well then, it looks like I'll be placing myself under your tender care, Mr.Frost." Smiling coyly, Adrianna wondered how the others would take to what seemed like a blatant attempt at earning a judge's vote. Hopefully there wouldn't be any slander written on the local newspaper - those would be troublesome, to say the least.
"What pose do you wish for me to be in?" she gently asked, still wearing that fun little smile. "Be sure to pick a good one." @ Cryos Frost

Ice: One of two things to warm my heart. "I will do my best.", the Ice Sculptor stated when Adrianna told him that she'll be 'under his care'.
As he began to think about what pose the judge should be in, he overheard people saying things like:
"Is he bribing her?"
"Man, what a douche!"
"Wow, she's pretty hot. Wonder if she's got a boyfriend already? Wouldn't surprise me."
With a hint of frustration, he glared at the people talking to get them to get out of the way, since he had to concentrate.
He then looked directly at Adrianna again.
"The pose, hm?", he said. "Well, I could sculpt you in any pose you're in, but if I have to carefully select it..."
He paused.
"... It would have to be one that really shows to the world who you are. Miss Adrianna Kravenski. From what I have seen about you. I think something mysterious, mischievous but still somehow approachable."
He then got an idea. With that idea in mind, he picked up a chair that was nearby and placed it near Adrianna.
"How about you sit down here, Ms. Kravenski? I was thinking either you could sit like a noble lady with your hands on your lap, or you could sit with one leg over the other, while a hand or a fist rests on your chin. The choice is yours."
He hoped the blue-haired girl was okay with the choices he came up with.

Adrianna smiled a knowing smile when she heard those comments thrown their way, and she watched as Cryos shut them up with a fierce gaze. That little act showed to her another side of him that he had kept hidden behind his previous kindness, and Adrianna found that fact mildly amusing. He also described her as mysterious and mischievous, two words that she couldn't help but chuckle to.
She listened to him giving her a few suggestions for a pose, and she raised an eyebrow at the latter of the two. "Like this?" she asked, crossing her legs over (careful to not accidentally show anything) before resting her elbow against it, resting her chin in an open palm. A confident smile was added to complete the look, and she waited for his response. @ Cryos Frost (sorry dude, I really couldn't think of how to reply)

Ice: One of two things to warm my heart. Cryos' eyes lighted up when Adrianna began to pose.
"Yes... Yes...!", he excitedly said. "This is perfect!"
A brick suddenly appeared out of nowhere and struck him directly in the forehead. Metaphorically, of course. Upon picking that metaphorical brick up, he read the word 'inspiration' on it.
With his equipment in hand, he began to shave off the excess ice so that it fell to the ground.
Little by little, piece by piece, the ice block took shape. First, Adrianna's head was visible, then her torso and arms in the pose she was in. Then, after slight complications, he managed to sculpt out her legs and lower half of her body.
All in all, Cryos thought he was good with the time, it took him about one hour and fifteen minutes to finish the sculpture.
"And I'm finished!", he said, after adding the finishing touches, like Adrianna's smile, the pattern on her clothing and the works.
"But gimme a sec, here." He then took the biggest block of excess ice he could find and in another fifteen minutes, made a rose that looked like it was frozen. He then offered it to the blue-haired girl.
"This is wonderful.", he said. Cryos did like admiring his masterpieces. "I think I'll call it 'Princess Kravenski's Confidence."
He then had a big goofy grin on his face.

Her eyes lit up with delight as she inspected the sculpture, admiring the beauty of Cryos' craft. With her back turned to him she stood face-to-face with the iced version of herself, arms raised behind her head in an attempt to stretch away the stiffness gained from sitting. A satisfied smile spread across her lips, and she felt her heart fluttering delightfully. She loved this beautiful rendition with every fiber of her being, so much so that tunnel vision decreed her not having caught any and all that the maker was saying. This was a sight that rivaled even the image of her reflection in a full body mirror.
What finally pulled her attention away was yet another iced beauty, though she found herself thinking this one paler in comparison. It took her a second to fit the pieces together, finally understanding that this was the ice sculptor's final gift. Bearing her teeth just a little, she smiled, bending her head forwards to bite on the stem of the flower to pick it up.
"Ms Kravenski?" a gruff voice called, resulting in Adrianna quickly scrambling to make herself presentable. Plucking the rose out of her mouth, her cheeks flushed lightly red. "Y-yes?" she asked, turning to face the man. "I was just engaging in some friendly conversation with one of our participants."
"That's perfectly alright," he replied. "The other judges are all waiting for you to join them in evaluating the talent we have here today, so could you please make your way quickly towards them?"
Putting on a friendly smile, Adrianna bowed to the man and made her way over to where she could see the rest of the judges gathering. Something was nagging at her as she walked towards the group, a few words that annoyingly stayed in her mind. It plagued her even after the stat of the evaluation process, forcing her to smile at the contestants and list off plastic comments of praise whenever prompted. It was a tiresome ordeal, and a part of her had started wondering if the man had said what he had out of spite.
'The talent we have here today,' said the man. Replaying that conversation again in her mind as she stood in front of a crudely made.. something, it took all of her willpower to not simply stop and scoff. Recognition of Talent was what only Hope's Peak bestows. These common folk had no right to delude themselves into thinking that they were as great as the students of Hope's Peak. True talent doesn't exist anywhere but there.
This train of thought quickly led to her to see the common folk in a saddening light. A weird source of sympathy emerged out of it, and there came a point where she started to actively care for the other contestants. After all, when an ape is striving for something out of its league, the honorable protocol was to encourage the poor thing, not to beat it down.
Needless to say, Cryos won the competition that day. The local media grew abuzz with talks about how two SHSL students worked hand-in-hand against everybody else, commenting on the unfair privileges that these students seemed to enjoy. The managers of the event were soon swamped by a PR disaster, but Adrianna couldn't care less to go out of her way to follow any new developments. She had better things to do with her time, and no doubt the common folk will just forget about it all as the news cycle refreshes in the days and weeks to come.
Besides, of course the students of Hope's Peak deserve special treatment. They're the ones carrying the torch of progress while the commoners simply slave away their days. The chosen ones willingly put on their backs the weight of a brighter, more developed future, so why shouldn't the load be eased by those below them? She mused that those below them should think of personal sacrifice as a way to give their children a better world to live in.
They're saints, her and the rest of these Hope's Peak students. What better word is there to use to describe those that give back so much to the world around them? She only hoped that the ungrateful public will come to realize that fact sooner rather than later, else they might all fall prey to the cloud of idiotic jealousy, pulled down to the mud by the dirty claws of the masses. @ Cryos Frost
