Chiaki pursed her lips. She knew what Daniel meant, and what Yuukyoku meant too, but that didn't make their points wrong or right. To her, she was right, but each person was different. It wasn't fact. There wasn't a right way to play a game. There was just playing a game and having fun and then there was Chiaki's way of playing a game and that was being herself but still playing and beating a game fully. Playing evil, choosing every choice there is, choosing the endings, unlocking all the secrets. To Chiaki games were what allowed one to explore themselves. It would add a depth to them they didn't even know, teach them who they really were on the inside.
"Well yes, as I said, I play through all the routes on every game possible," Chiaki began, thumbing through her cards and organizing them, without looking up at them, a still expression: her poker face was already on. "However, to me, video games are an exploration of you. The main character doesn't have a set personality necessarily, it's you who gives it to them when there are choices that affect the world in the game. This world is a game of its own. Life is a video game, don't you see? And other games are what show you what kind of protagonist you want to be in life. Do you want to be the good one? Do you want to be the pacifist? Will you fight against violence and evil even when its tougher? Or will you fall to despair? Will you fight and kill people who get in your way?"
"There are many games that present you with a moral dilemma and in games you can see and learn what consequences you face. Sometimes the right choice is a terrible choice you must make for the good of the world. Sometimes choosing to save a child means they grow up to be the next Hitler, and in games you get to experience those choices, and learn how to fight, and learn how to affect the world, learn how to interact with people in life. In games like Fire Emblem you have to learn how to be a good tactician, win a battle without losing your units. In games like the Tales series, you must learn how to fight and how to manage your money and learn weaknesses of those you face and use it against them or drive through with sheer force. In dating sims, you learn how to make someone like you, how your choices affect those around you and how it affects how much they like you… Games are life. Life is just a giant game you learn how to play by playing other games and living."
