Never let it be said that Noriko Nakazawa is incapable of following orders on occasion. Of course she had debated heavily on letting the call go unanswered to begin with, technically she was supposed to be giving a biology lecture to a group of sleepy eyed unenthused high school students but Noriko had come down with the “doesn’t really wanna work today” bug and had spent the majority of the time hiding slash napping in the nursing office, shirking all responsibilities that the school pays her to perform.
"I'm here, I'm h-"
It was right about then that things clicked in her mind that things were not okay like usual. Maybe it was the kids sobbing by the front gates, or the staff members trying to usher them all back inside to their dorms, or the unmoving figure covered by a hoodie that was slowly changing colors in areas as it was dampened by the blood of the figure underneath it, but something wasn’t right here. The wanted to scream, wanted to move, wanted to do…something. But the green haired nurse seemed frozen in time, frozen in fear as she stared at the figure that was before her on the ground like something out of a horror story, and before she even knew it the young nurse was moving forward approaching the body against her will, her mild silently begging her body to stop before it did something she’d regret forever.
There had to be something she could do. Sure she didn't seem to have a pulse, sure her skin had grown cold and clammy, and her chest wasn’t rising up and down to indicate oxygen was entering her lungs, but there wasn’t any way something like this could really be happening right? This all had to be a really bad dream, a nightmare, that was it. And even if it was all just a nightmare she still had to do something, right? I mean a nightmare was just a dream, crossed connections in your head that made you see things that weren't real. Surely they were all back in the bed they spent the night in, that being their own or somebody elses no judgement here, and everyone would wake up soon and everything would be fine. Until then:
"E-everyone go on, there's nothing to see here. Shoo, shoo!" And yes, the visibly shaken school nurse did make shooing motions towards the few stragglers that remained.
If this was a nightmare, would somebody please wake her up?
